Original Soundtrack
In 2025 I had the pleasure of joining Project Dance as the in-house composer for their summer show 'BUSK'.
For this production I composed a completely original score that was woven in with some pre-existing songs.
The energy was electric and the whole process was transformative and creatively enriching. The results were a beautiful show that I hope to see again one day!

Composing for dance has been an eye-opening and exciting experience. Most composition or arranging work comes at the end of a project, at which point there are a lot of creative decisions already made.
With this project, the music inspired the story and the story inspired the music which resulted in a gloriously creative back-and-forth. I was very much looking forward to hearing the final product as much as anyone else!
Dance brought a new dimension to my process as a composer, which turned out to be an incredibly rewarding and dynamic process. The music informed the dance, but the dance choreography and even the dancers themselves could inform the musical decisions.
It has been truly magical to see my my music be embodied through dance. I felt very emotional (in a positive way!) watching these incredible dancers bring my music to life in such a unique and special way. It’s a hard thing to describe, but I can see, hear and feel the music in ways unlike anything else on my own.
After watching the show 3 times during its tour, I was picking up more and more details in the choreography and staging; consistently swept away by the story and how well it was told. I enjoyed it every time and went home each day feeling the joy of BUSK!

It really was such an honour to be part of this project. Everyone worked so hard and delivered something truly unique and special. The incredible team of Project Dance proved that there is no 'i' in team, but there is an 'i' in family.
